Sing for Hope HandaHarmony Youth Chorus

The Sing for Hope HandaHarmony Youth Chorus is Sing for Hope's musical ensemble for children and youth ages 6-18 from the New York metropolitan area. This program is made possible by a transformational 10-year grant to Sing for Hope by The International Foundation for Arts and Culture (Dr. Haruhisa Handa, Sing for Hope Global Patron). HandaHarmony's flagship annual event is The United Nations High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, a destination event for our students and an international symbol of youth arts empowerment.

Program Highlights

Cultural Diplomacy on the World Stage

The Sing for Hope HandaHarmony Youth Chorus represents the voice of the next generation on the global stage. A steadfast feature at the United Nations since 2019, our choristers perform regularly at high-stakes convenings (including the UN General Assembly and the High-level Political Forum) ensuring that youth perspectives and creative advocacy remain central to the conversation on sustainable development.

Civic Leadership & Legislative Advocacy

Our students are active civic participants, using their music to champion arts equity at the highest levels of city and state government. The SFH HandaHarmony Youth Chorus performs hand-in-hand with elected officials at events ranging from the BLACC Legislative Breakfast to the City Hall Holiday Tree Lighting, as well as community circles honoring Women's and Black History.

Transforming Public Spaces

The SFH HandaHarmony Youth Chorus transforms high-traffic transit hubs and plazas into open-air concert halls, reaching thousands of audience members annually. Whether performing alongside stars like Gavin DeGraw or activating Sing for Hope Pianos at Moynihan Train Hall and the Port Authority Bus Terminal, our students make the arts accessible, unexpected, and free for all.
